Jake Robers Dead at 64 Years; Lifetime Resident of Lyons Area

 

A lifetime resident of the Lyons area, Jake J. Robers, 64, of Route 4, Burlington, died Dec. 3 in Burlington Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in St. Joseph's Church, Lyons.

Robers, born May 16, 1897, was a farmer in the Town of Lyons. He was married to the former Alice Richter on June 8, 1926, who survives him.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Lyons, the Holy Name Society, Burlington Council Knights of Columbus, Lyons American Legion Post, Pure Milk Assn. and the National and State Holstein-Friesian Assn. of America.

Survivors include two sons, Wally and Melvin of Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Straus, Elkhorn, and Mrs. Richard Schiller, Burlington; one brother, Frank, in Florida; two sisters, Sister Mary Priscilla, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Mrs. Peter Weber, Prairie du Sac; eight grandchildren.
