Age 83. Passed away March 13, 1965 in the Burlington Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kerkman was born in New Munster on Sept. 24, 1881 to John and Catherine Bracker Kerkman and spent his early life and received his education in New Munster. On Nov. 17, 1908, in New Munster, Wis., he was married to the former Clara Epping, who preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 1958. Following their marriage they lived in New Munster where he was a farmer. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church, New Munster. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Siehoff, Route 3, Burlington; five sons, Marcell, Union Grove, Francis, New Munster, Leon, Twin Lakes, James, Burlington and Stanley, Route 5, Burlington; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph and Tony, New Munster; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Peil; Racine and Miss Mayme Kerkman, New Munster. Besides his wife, three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 15, 10:30 a.m., in St. Alphonsus Church, Rev. Warren C. Abrahamson officiating. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Friends may call at the SCHUETTE, WERTH & DANIELS FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Pine St., Burlington, Sunday after 2 p.m. The Rosary will be recited Sunday evening, 8:15.
