MARY P. FETTES KERKMAN

Mary 'Marie' P. Fettes Kerkman, 100, died July 31, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints. She was born Aug 26, 1913, to the late Ernest and Eunice (Kelly) Henningfield in Rosewood. Her early life was spent in Dover where she attended Sunnyside School and Union Grove High School.

She resided in the Kansasville area her whole life and drove school bus for over 26 years. She was a very simple person and enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing cards, reading and the basic joys of life. She loved jokes and stories 'both kinds' but more than anything she was a faith-filled woman who loved God, her family and friends. They meant the world to her. She made quilts for her family and was known for her dedication to sending out birthday and Christmas cards to her entire family.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 7924, St. Mary's, and the Senior Card Clubs in Waterford, Burlington and Union Grove.

Survivors include her children, Nic (Rose) Fettes, Kansasville, Helen Reesman, Sturtevant, Mary Anne Hoffmann, Racine, Judy (Tom) Adam, Little Rock Ark., Sally Larson, Lake Geneva, David (Rita) Fettes, Colo., Sue (Bob) Reuss, Wisconsin Dells, Don (Tammie) Fettes, Rice Lake; daughter-in-law, Carol Fettes, Burlington; son-in-law, Bill Jacobs; stepchildren, Ron (Sue) Kerkman, Rich (Carol) Kerkman, Jean (Bob) Lois, Gayle Kerkman; siblings, Vern (Carol) Henningfield, Dorothy Ludwig; sister-in-law, Joan Henningfield; 30 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was further preceded in death by her children, Robert, Jerry and Marlene; in-laws, Don Reesman, Bill Hoffmann and Bill Larson; siblings, Fred, Edwin (Helen), Louis (Bernie), Mildred (Lud) and Frank; in-law, Bob Ludwig; and step-son, Roger Kerkman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. Robert Kacalo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Friday, Aug. 8, from 4-7 p.m., at the Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove, and again on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the church.
