Barbara "K" (Kaskie) Wood, of Indianola, died Sept. 22, 2015.
Barbara "K" (Kaskie) Wood lived a long and happy life which was dedicated to what she loved the most: God, her family and helping the less fortunate. Known for her thrifty ways, she instilled a love of the little things in life in her children and helped them learn to appreciate every detail and moment. She will be remembered as an active member of the community, who up until recently was still helping people file their tax returns and seeking out large-print secondhand books to add to the library at New Cassel Retirement Center, where she also volunteered. After struggling with numerous health issues, Barbara succumbed to her illness.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 44 years, Donald Wood; son, Bill Wood; daughter, Sharon Budke; and parents, Everett and Mayme Kaskie.
She is survived by 12 children, Bernie Wood, of McCook, Kathy (Bill) Kiefer, of Omaha, Annette Wood, of Independence, California, Marty (Brenda) Wood, of Omaha, Jay Wood, of Indianola, Kevin Budke, spouse of the late Sharon Budke, of North Platte, Buck (Thauna) Wood, of Minden, Theresa (Lonnie) Brooks, of Indianola, Don (Dianne) Wood, of Omaha, Terry (Nubia) Wood, of Omaha, Kevin (Pam) Wood, of North Platte, Paul (Julie) Wood, of Omaha, and David (Katie) Wood, of Omaha; 29 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pat Coy; and her brother, Rich (Darlene) Kaskie, all of Denver.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, at St. Catherine's Church in Indianola. A Rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, at St. Catherine's Church.
