Russell F. Cooney, 62, of Browns Lake, who had been in the real estate and insurance business for 28 years in Burlington, died Friday in Burlington Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He formerly was director of the Racine County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, and during World War II, was director of the Office of Price Administration for western Racine County. He also was past commander of Ross - Wilcox Post, American Legion and a director of Browns Lake golf course.
Cooney was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Ross - Wilcox Post and the American Board of Insurance Underwriters.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
