Funeral services for Edward V. Hellstern, 77, were held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monday with Father Richaid Zenk officiating and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Edward V. Hellstern died May 11, in Hegg Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Hellstern was born July 27, 1891 in Rock Valley, the son of Thomas and Rose Hellstern. He worked as a carpenter in Rock Valley many years. He served in France in the Infantry in World War I. One brother, William, preceeded him in death.

Survirors include five sisters, Mrs. Gordon Willson, Mrs. Bert Kessler, Mrs. Anna Marsey, Miss Alberta Hellstern, Sioux City, and Mrs. Chas. Aldrich Hansmond. Mont.

Pallbearers were Leo Buckley, Clarence Keegan, Matt Baatz, Martin Cullinan. Bernard Beumer and Richard Richter.
