Amelia Haffa Wiest Salz

Services for Mrs. Amelia Haffa Wiest Salz, 92, of Parkview Gardens, formerly of Walnut Court Apartments, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St Joseph's Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at Parkview Gardens.

She was born May 9, 1892, in Pinos Altos, N.M., daughter of Samuel and Ruth Parra Wiest. When she was 14 she moved to Waterloo and lived with her aunt and uncle, Abe and Rebecca Haffa. She married John P. Salz June 10, 1919, in Central, N.M. He died July 31, 1970.

She is survived by two sons, Richard J. Salz of the Walnut Court Apartments and Brother Alfred W. Salz, CSC, of Mount View, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Koster of Dunkerton; two sisters, Katherine Kirkpatrick of Ventura, Calif, and Mrs. Ellen Otis of Mount Angel, Ore.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday at O'Keefe & Town-Carter & Waychoff Funeral Home where friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. Thursday.
