Maye was married to someone with the last name of Murray. This was deduced by 2 items -- California Death Index (show below) and sister Antoinette's obit. So, I searched FaG and found her headstone here. This gave me the name of her husband, Ward. Now, in searching for a marriage record, I found this record. This Indiana marriage license was issued to Maye J Bruck and Daniel J E Murray. Now, is this right? The 1930 census says age at first marriage was 45. That would put marriage date at ~1922. So, looking for alternate marriage records, I found this record. This says Ward E Murray was married in Chicago in 1922...to Effie Lewis. Ok, next I looked at more CA records and found voter registration records for Ward and Maye Murray at the following addresses...

So, they were in LA in 1940, let's get the census record. Uh...who is Edward W Murray? The address is a match for the 1940 Voter Reg. So...whatever. While looking these up, I find this WWII Reg Card for Ward Eugene Murray. And while the 1940 census states POB as Iowa, the WWII Reg says POB is Baltimore, MD. And the address on the WWII Reg is not anything that matches Voter Reg...but it is crossed out and...wait...on top of the card is written another address...2619 Kent St. So, this is the guy...right? But who is Mrs. T.G. Torpey? Oh yeah...that's Maye's sister. Living in the same house she was at in 1930 -- with Maye and WITHOUT Ward.

So, I think Ward Eugene Murray was the husband of Maye. I'm not sure what to think about the Indiana Marriage License...seems like a pretty big coincidence but.../shrug.

Also, because this search wasn't complex enough, Ward remarried Dec 8, 1958 -- 17 months after Maye died and 4 months before he died.
