Sister M. Annette Buried Saturday

 

Funeral services were held from Mount Loretto Chapel Saturday morning for Sister Mary Annette Beierschmitt, a member of the Sisters of the Presentation for 25 years, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, at Mount Loretto after an extended illness. The Rev. John M. Gregory, St. Columbkille's, was the celebrant of the solemn high Mass of requiem. The Rev. F. J. Phelan, Mercy Hospital, was deacon and the Rev. G. C. Lattner, St. Joseph's, sub-deacon. The sermon was preached by the Rev. J. I. Patnode of St. Joseph's, Key West.

Laurena Florence Beierschmitt, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Trebon-Beierschmitt, was born at Fairbank, Ia., Dec. 7, 1897. She attended and was graduated from Immaculate Conception High School there. She entered the novitiate of the Sisters of the Presentation June 11, 1920, and was professed April 26, 1923.

After profession, Sister Annette taught in the schools conducted by the Order at Elkader, Whittemore, Dougherty, Danbury, Mason City and at St. Columbkille's, Dubuque. When stricken by her last illness, she was principal of St. Joseph's School, Elkader, Ia.
