Neil P. Beieischmitt, 77, of Jesup, Iowa died on Wednesday, September 14, 1994 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born on March 16, 1917 in Fairbank, the son of John Anthony Elizabeth Trebon Beierschmitt. He attended Immaculate Conception School in Fairbank. On February 12, 1941, he and the former Dolores Margaret Trierweiler were married at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. They farmed in Buchanan County until retiring in 1978. Mr. Beierschmitt was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Beierschmitt is survived by his wife Dolores; two sons, John M. Beierschmitt and Patrick N. Beierschmitt, both of Jesup; one foster daughter, Betty Doetkott of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 17, 1994 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup with burial in St. Athanasius cemetery. Fr. Donald P. Schmitt was the celebrant. Music was provided by Mrs. Gerald Drilling, organist, and the St. Athanasius Church Choir.

Casket bearers were Greg Beierschmitt, Robert Jamerson, James Beierschmitt, Don Beierschmitt, Steve Thorne and Kenneth Knebel.

Special services included a parish rosary at 3 PM, a vigil service at 7 PM and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 PM on September 16.

White Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
