Dolores M Beierschmitt, 77, a life-long Jesup, IA, area resident died early Wednesday, October 15, 1997, at her Jesup in home following a lengthy illness.
She was born, September 2, 1920, at Jesup, IA, the daughter of Math Trierweiler and Katherine (Fischels) Trierweiler. She was graduated from Jesup High School in 1937 and later from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, IA. On February 12, 1941 she was united in marriage to Neil Patrick Beierschmitt at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. They lived on the farm near Jesup until 1978 when they moved into town and then retired from farming in 1984.
Dolores also worked as a professional secretary for many years, first at Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, later in Waterloo for the Electrical Union and then retiring from the Allen Hospital purchasing department in 1984. She was a member or St. Athanasius Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Pius X #1714, both in Jesup.
Mrs. Beierschmitt is survived by two sons, John M. Beierschmitt and Patrick N. Beierschmitt, both of Jesup, IA, one foster daughter, Betty J. Doetkott of Coon Rapids, MN, 11 grandchildren, and one sister, Vivian LeGoube of Burbank, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Neil, in 1994; one sister, Lucille Taylor; one brother, Eugene Trierweiler and her parents.
Funeral services were held 10 AM Saturday, October 18, 1997, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Fr. Donald P. Schmitt and Fr. Robert M. Hirsch as concelebrants. Music was by Mrs. Gerald Drilling, organist; Katie Beierschmitt, cantor, and the St. Athanasius Church Choir. The Lector was Charles R. Weber. Casket Bearers were Marvin Hershberger, Marc Taylor, Richard Armstrong, Robert Strauel, Steve Thome, and John Herrmann. Burial was at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup.
Special services held at White Funeral Home included a rosary by the Catholic Daughter's at 3 PM and a vigil service at 8 PM, both Friday, October 17.
Memorials will be directed to various educational institutions.
