Thomas O'Meara Laid To Rest

 

Funeral services were held Friday, February 5 at 10 o'clock in St. Michael's Catholic church for Thomas Ligauri O'Meara, of Minneapolis. Rev. Father Nicholas Walsh of Boise, Idaho was the ce1ebrant of the Mass with Rev. Father Paul Murray, the Deacon and Rev. Father Francis Flemm1ng of Glen Lake the Sub-Deacon. The St. Michael Choir furnished the music.

Burial was in St. Michael's Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were George Feehan, Pat Walsh, Glenn Grove, Vern Grove, George McCluskey and Donald Boyd.

Thomas O'Meara was born August 2, 1902 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Catherine (Hynes) O'Meara. He lived with his family in Lakeville before moving to Farmington, where he graduated from the Farmington High School in 1920. He was united in marriage with Marcella Walsh, May 28, 1930. To this union five children were born. They are Thomas P. of Minneapolis; Mrs. Robert (Ann) Hawkins of Minneapolis; Sister Mary Thomasella (Geraldine) of Kenosha, Wisconsin; James of Minneapolis: and Rosemary, age 11 at home in Minneapolis.

Mr. O'Meara farmed for several years southeast of Farmington moving to Lakeville 14 years ago, where he farmed for two years before moving to Minneapolis, where he has been in the employ of the State Grain Inspection Department, ever since. He was a foreman sampler and died while at work, Tuesday, February 2nd at 12:20 P.M. from a coronary attack. He suffered his first attack 4½ years ago, the first of three.

Mr. O'Meara was widely known and well 1iked by all who knew him, throughout this community. He will be missed by his family and friends, The esteem which he was held was demonstrated by the large numbers who called at the MacPhee Funeral Home and attended the funeral.

He was a member of the Incarnation Catholic church in Minneapolis.

Besides his wife and children he is survived by 7 grandchildren, a brother, Irwin O'Meara and a sister, Mrs. John (Benita) Devney both of Farmington. A sister. Mrs. James (Helen) Schneider is deceased.
