MRS. GRACE D. MARTIN

 

Mrs. Grace D. Martin, 77, of 321 E. 2nd st., died at St. Francis Hospital at 5 p.m. Tuesday of a heart attack.

She was born in Corning on Jan 27, 1895, IDS, the daughter of Edgar and Agnes Burke Thompson. She came to Waterloo at the age of 14. She had resided here for 63 years. Mrs. Martin was married Jan. 17, 1917 to Edward Martin in Waterloo. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America; the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles; and Women of the Moose Lodge.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Moore of 813 Wisner Drive; Mrs. Leonard Wellner of Dunkerton; three grandchildren; one brother, J. H. Thompson of Gulf Port, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Will William Lynch of Pharr, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. A. A. Sodawasser, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Catholic Daughters of America will conduct a Rosary service at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, both at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral home, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday.
