Katherine "Kate" T. Mackey, 62, of Waverly, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
Kate was born July 14, 1947, the daughter of Arthur and Mardell (Hills) Tribon in Waverly. She graduated from Denver High School and began her career as a Secretary for numerous businesses in the area. She married Don Benson in 1970 and the couple later divorced. She married Stuart Mackey on April 22, 1983, in Charles City. To this union their son, Nathan, was born.
Kate is survived by her husband, Stuart, one son; Nathan Mackey of Waverly, one granddaughter; Kylie Mackey of Waverly, brother; Frank (Vicky) Tribon of Harmony, Minnesota, sister; Mary (Gary) Kasper of Champlin, Minnesota. Her parents precede her in death.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly with burial to follow in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. Family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to service time. There will be no visitation.
