J. G. Heiligenthal died last Sunday evening at 9:30 o'clock at his home a short distance West of this city of cancer of the stomach after an illness of three months, aged 65 years.
Mr. Heiligenthal was born in Sheboygan county, Wis., on July 22, 1854. When a child his parents moved to the town of Lyons and later to the old homestead southeast of this city. The deceased was married in 1876 to Frances Richter, who died in 1878. He was married a second time to Mary Naber of Waterford. For the past seven years they have lived on their place west of this city. Besides his wife Mr. Heiligenthal is survived by five children, namely John S. and H. C. Heiligenthal, Lyons; Mrs. Nic. Helgert, Lake Geneva; Mrs. E. H. Krakofsky and Mrs. Wm. J. Hofner, Burlington. A mother, Mrs. Julia Heiligenthal of this city, is also living and is 83 years old, three brothers, Geo. and Henry Heiligenthal, Burlington and Jos. Heiligenthal, Lyons. There are seven grandchildren.
The funeral took place on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's church, Rev. J. A. VanTreeck conducting the services. Interment was had in the Catholic cemetery.
