Age 74. Passed away Sunday, May 23, 1982, at Memorial Hospital in Burlington. She was born in Burlington on September 12, 1907, to August and Ella (Riethus) Arndt. She had spent her entire life in Burlington. On October 8, 1923, in Waukegan, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Arthur H. Thate. Mrs. Thate was a member of Christian Science Church, Burlington. Surviving are her husband, Arthur H. Thate of Burlington; two daughters and one son-in-law, Charlotte Heiligenthal of Burlington, Harry (Shirley) Heiligenthal of Rogers, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, David (Kathleen) Thate of Burlington; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Merrill of Monroe, Wis. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Bernhart, and one brother, William Arndt. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, at 8:00 p.m. at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Reader Lester Fritz will officiate. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the SCHUETTE-DANIELS FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Pine St., Burlington, on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
