Rosemary Jane Trebon

Rosemary Jane Trebon joined her beloved daughters Pam and Mary in heaven on January 6, 2016, after dealing with years of numerous health issues. She was born the sixth of eleven children on August 4, 1937, to George and Rose Barnes in Bandikui, India. Brought up in the Catholic faith, she attended St. Mary's school, run by Franciscan nuns, in Mt. Abu, India. Completing high school at age 14, she and her brother Fred sailed to England where she lived with her eldest sister, Dinky, and attended college. Within two years she was working in the executive offices of The Nestle Corporation near London.

In December 1955, following a choir practice at the Air Force church in West Drayton, she met American Airman, Ron Trebon. Married November 3, 1956 in Haines, Middlesex, England, they soon were expecting their first child, Deborah Marie, born in August 1957. After Ron's honorable discharge, they relocated to Seattle, Washington, and in the next several years were blessed with three more children: Steven Ronald, Rosemary Lynn, and Pamela Jean.

Rosemary was a stay at home mom, working hard to manage four growing children and the home she and Ron had purchased. Quick to learn all kinds of skills, from sewing to canning and cooking, she volunteered in her children's schools, coaching their softball teams and supporting the children in their school work. She also founded Father Mark's Guild with a number of women from St. Benedict's Parish, raising funds for her brother, Fr. Mark's missionary work in India. She learned to paint, make ceramic and porcelain figurines and household objects, becoming over time one of the premier porcelain doll face painters on the West Coast, eventually teaching classes in the arts. Creative, smart, and energetic, Rosemary was active with her family and within her church and neighborhood communities, bringing her own sense of style to everything she endeavored.

In her later years, Rosemary was plagued with ill health, on top of the sorrow of losing her two youngest daughters in the 1990's. Nonetheless, she maintained a positive and cheerful outlook, especially when it came to her grandchildren: Peter, David, Katharine, Anthony, Nicholas, Cody, and Elyssa. She was delighted this past year by the birth of her great granddaughter, Penelope Rose, and was overjoyed to have much of her family with her to celebrate this past Christmas.

Rosemary leaves behind Ron, her beloved husband of almost 60 years, her remaining children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter, as well as her siblings Dinky, Jerry, Reg, John, Annie, George, and Kathy. She also leaves a legacy of creativity, strength, courage, love of family, faith, and love. We will miss Rosemary deeply, and rejoice that you are with your beloved parents, sisters Tess and Jenny and brother Fred, as well as your cherished Pam and Mary. We love you Sister, Grandma, Mom, and Silver-Haired Indian Princess.
