Peter Joseph Stark ABCM(AW)U.S. Navy (Ret.)

Peter J. Stark, 54, currently of Jacksonville, FL and Corapeake, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Jacksonville. Pete was born in Long Branch, NJ on September 21, 1960 and was raised in Hazlet for 11 years before moving to Toms River. Pete was an alumnus of Toms River North High School before entering the Navy for a 30 year career, retiring as an Aviation Boatswain Master Chief. During his service, he saw many foreign ports and participated in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Besides loving his family, Pete was a lover of NASCAR racing, as evidenced by his email of N24WINS, cooking and country western music. He was the MacGyver of the family with his uncanny ability to fix anything that needed fixing. His heart was huge; he was always there to help anyone in need, wheth-er it be a car to loan, a place to stay or shoulder to cry or laugh on.

Pete is predeceased by his parents, Christian, Jr. and Doris Stark. He is survived by his fiancée, Keary Mondrik; children, Jason Stark and his wife, Hillary and granddaughter, Haleigh of Corapeake NC; Christopher Stark and his companion, Breonna and expectant grandson, Noah of Elizabeth City, NC; his daughter, Caitlyn Stark of Corapeake, NC; brother, Christian Stark III and his wife, Marianne of Wall; and stepsons, James Munoz, Dakota Smerglia and Jeremy Mondrik. He is also survived by his Aunt Millicent Pearce of Cape May Court House, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from six o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, October 22. Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Thursday, October 23 at Leonora Garden in Oaklawn Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers to please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
