Stephen John Kaskie, M.D., age 66, passed away on August 3, 2016, after battling cancer. He was born on July 13, 1950, in Ames, Iowa, to C. Joseph and Shirliann Kaskie. Dr. Kaskie completed his medical residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and was a Board Certified Family Physician. A resident of Bonita Springs since 1986, he was active in the Bonita Springs chapters of the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid bridge player during his retirement. Steve was adored by his three beloved dogs Callie, Lilly, and Lucy.

Steve was preceded in death by his father C. Joseph Kaskie, his niece Grace Kaskie, and his grandson Nathaniel Miklozek. Survivors include his longtime partner Anita Flynn; mother Shirliann Kaskie; children Lara (John) Miklozek, Joe Kaskie, and Tom (Sarah) Kaskie; and grandchildren Grace Miklozek and Jasper Kaskie. He is also survived by his siblings David (Mary) Kaskie, Michael Kaskie, Lisa (Nick) Capper, Jon (Lori) Kaskie, and Brian (Darlene) Kaskie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs at 10:00 a.m. on September 10, 2016.
