Earl I. Smith, 61, Lilly Lake, Route 5, Burlington, died Thursday morning at Memorial Hospital, Burlington.

He was born in Silver Lake April 8, 1918, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ivan (Lydia Thorton) Smith. He spent his early life in Silver Lake and was at Fox River School.

He married Evelyn Kersting Sept. 13, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa. After marriage they lived in Lilly Lake.

He was a crane for operator for Anaconda Co.- Brass Division in Kenosha.

He was a member of St. John Catholic Church of Twin Lakes.

He is survived by his wife, by two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Frank and Mrs. William (Eva) Baker, both of Burlington; six grandchildren and a brother, Clarence of Waterford, Wis.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy.


SMITH-Funeral services for the late Earl I. Smith of Rt. 5, Lily Lake, Burlington, who passed away Jan. 24th, will be held at 11 A.M. Sat. at St. Johns Catholic Church, Twin Lakes. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 P.M. Friday at the McCarthy-Koenig Funeral Home, Burlington and after 10 A.M. Saturday at church. Vigil 8 P.M. Friday.
