Miss Josephine Elbert and Carl Ritland were united in marriage at the home of Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Buntlng last Thursday evening at 8:30, Rev. Owen Ritland of Ladyside, Wisconsin, a brother of the groom, assisted by Rev. Wm. P. Webb of this city, performed the ceremony.

The home was tastily decorated for the occasion, and about thirty relatives and friends of the bride and groom were present. The bride is an accomplished and talented young lady. She has lived in Rock Valley and vicinity all practically her life, and her kind and winning way has won her many friends. She is a graduate of the local high school and also of the Iowa Teachers College at Cedar Falls. For the past two years she has been employed in the primary department of the Spencer public schools and has been very successful in this work. The groom is an exemplary young man. For the past three or four years he has been employed on the H.M. Corwin farm and during that time he has not only won the highest respect and confidence of his employer but had cultivated the friendship of all with whom he came in contact.
