August Klemp, 80, Overland. Park, Kan., died Wednesday, January 13, 1993, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church of Mission, Kan. Family visitation held Sunday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley with burial at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Valley View Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Demke officiating.
Mr. Klemp was born Nov. 20, 1912, at Portage, Wis. He was married Aug. 21, 1948, at Manchester, Iowa, to Jean Elbert, daughter of Louis and Gladys Elbert (now of Rock Valley). They lived at Portage and Elm Grove, Wis., then moved to Overland Park in 1957. He worked an engineering assistant for AT & T, retiring in 1977.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Sherwin of Houston and Randall of Overland Park; a daughter, Karen Tardiff of Topeka, Kan.; a brother, Oscar Klemp of Portage; a sister, Esther Bulgrien of Portage, and two granddaughters.
