Glenn L. Shaffar, 86, of 2308 S. 11th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening, September 6, 1986 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Private memorial services were held and his ashes will be buried at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Shaffar was born May 15, 1900 at Shenandoah, Iowa, son of the late James S. and Clara Shrigley Shaffar. He was educated in Iowa and graduated from Ames State College. He married Ione L. Richter, June 27, 1941 at Manitowoc. Mr. Shaffar was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding for many years, retiring in 1969. He enjoyed hunting and walleye fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Ione; four sisters; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Myrtice Boehm of Manitowoc; a special niece, Mrs. Dorothy Richter and many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
