John R. Borton, age 37 of 1415 Wheaton St., Chippewa Falls, passed away Wednesday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Church with the Very Rev. Charles Wolf officiating. Interment will be made in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Borton was born February 4, 1936 in Eau Claire, the son of John Borton and Grace Colby. He was graduated from Eau Claire Manorial High School in 1954, and served in the Army from November 1, 1955 to October 7, 1957. On January 10, 1959 he was married to Darlene Gettler at Notre Dame Church.
Mr. Borton was employed at Armour's since of 1972 and previously had been employed at Peter's for 14 years. He was a member of the Meat Cutter's Union and a member of St. Charles Church.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, two sons, Scott and Steven and two daughters, Donna and Elaine, all at home; and his mother, Mrs. Grace Calby of Eau Claire.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Borton, and his step-father, Ralph Galby.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the Burkart-Horan Funeral Home. The Christian Vigil Service will be said at 8 p.m. Friday.
