The marriage of Miss Gertrude Piehler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Piehler of Holcombe, Wis., and Leo Trebon, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Trebon, of the city, was solemnized at seven o'clock this morning at Holy Ghost Church, Rev. Fr. Thome officiating.

The bride wore a gown of pink chiffon and hat to match. Her corsage was of pink carnations and bridal wreath. She was attended by Helen Trebon, sister of the groom as bridesmaid, Miss Trebon wearing a flowered figured gown and tan hat. Bernard Trebon attended the groom as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Trebon will make their home in Chippewa Falls.

Gertrude Elizabeth Rucks, 90, of Cornell, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at the Cornell Area Care Center in Cornell.

She was born Aug. 16, 1909, in Holcombe, the daughter of Karl and Hilda (Flieschauer) Piehler.

Gertrude married Leo Trebon on May 28, 1930, in Chippewa Falls. After his death she married Robert Rucks on Sept. 25, 1935, in Cornell.

As a young lady, Gertrude worked as a housekeeper for various doctors in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. She loved to raise flowers and worked in her vegetable garden.

Gertrude was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Cornell.

Survivors include her children, Doris A. Haroldson of Cornell, Elton (Ruth) Rucks of Cornell, Leona Olkowski of Rhinelander; one brother, Alfred Piehler of Ladysmith; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, Donald Wilcox; and one brother, Kurt Piehler.

Funeral services will be held at p.m. Wednesday at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Cornell, with the Rev. Melvin Schwark officiating. Burial will be in the Cornell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Borton Funeral Home, Cornell, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
