Services for Herbert C. Haffner, 92, of 1728 Rainbow Drive, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Haffner died Wednesday at his home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1892, at Sumner, son of George and Barbara Anna Leyh Haffner. He married Pearl J. Tribon Aug. 16, 1923, in Nashua.

He was a painter and decorator in the Sumner area, and in Cedar Falls after moving here in 1929. In 1937, he began working at University of Northern Iowa as a painter and decorator. He retired in 1959.

Mr. Haffner was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Verdice Wood of Pawhuska, Okla., Zona Whitehead of Des Moines, Jane Nassen of Iowa Falls, and Annette Gager of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.

Friends may call until 11 a.m. Saturday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
