Garnet Mae Reid, 86, of Westgate, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Arlington Place Assisted Living, Oelwein.

She was born May 8, 1927, in Westgate, daughter of Herman and Clara Bartz Nauholz. On Sept. 29, 1948, she married Clair Wagner Reid at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Westgate.

She graduated from Maynard High School, Maynard. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Survived by: her husband; three daughters, Sandra (Thomas) Glumac of Davenport, Fla., Patricia (Robert) McSweeny of Maynard and Denise (Stuart) Sliter of Mount Horeb, Wis.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Johns (Pat Patterson) of North Highlands, Calif.; a brother, Don (Shirley) Nauholz of Westgate; and a sister-in-law, Alyce Reid of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a daughter, Connie; a brother, Carl Nauholz; a sister-in-law, Margie Nauholz; and two brothers-in-law, Roy Johns and Robert Reid.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Westgate, with burial in church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorial fund: has been established in her name.
