Albert L. Dunn, 89

 

Albert L. Dunn, 89, of rural St. Anthony, passed away from cancer on Friday, Jan. 18, at Mary Greely Hospital in Ames.

Services were held for Dunn on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Anthony with burial following at Dunn Cemetery in rural St. Anthony. Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dunn was born at his home on Feb. 3, 1912, to William and Mary (Gannon) Dunn and he was a lifelong resident of St. Anthony where he farmed all his life.

Albert graduated from Liberty High School in St. Anthony in 1929. He married Loraine Balzer on April 26, 1943 in San Diego, California. He was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Anthony. His regular community activities included serving on the NESCO school board, Lincoln Township Trustee and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ann (Tom) Dunn Foley of New Brighton, Minnesota; three sons, Michael Dunn of Conyers, Georgia, William Dunn of Evanston, Illinois, and Robert Dunn of Madison, Wisconsin; and 11 grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Dunn on Feb. 18, 1993, his parents, one brother and four sisters.
