Elizabeth Keegan, 78, of Santa Monica, died in her residence Sunday.
Elizabeth Whalen was born Sept 12, 1907, in Larchwood, Iowa. She was graduated from St Mary's Catholic School in Larchwood.
She married Francis Keegan in 1928, in Larchwood. They also lived in Rock Valley, Iowa, Hudson and Sioux Falls.
She moved to Santa Monica in 1956 after her husband's death.
Mrs Keegan worked for Anderson Flower Shop and Eppley System. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Legion of Mary and St Ann's Catholic Church, Santa Monica.
Survivors include five sons: Kevin, Sioux Falls; Michael, Mission Hills, Calif; Patrick, La Mirada, Calif; and Thomas and Daniel, both of Santa Monica; two daughters: Mrs William (Colleen) Hess, Wichita, Kan; and Judith, Santa Monica; two brothers: Cecil Whalen, Sioux Falls; and Leonard Whalen, Glendale, Calif; three sisters: Mabel Mundt and Mrs Henry (Jenni) Klein, both of Sioux Falls; and Cecelia Keegan, Sarasota, Calif; and nine grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10:30 am Thursday in St Joseph's Cathedral. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa.
Visiting will begin at 1 pm today in Barnett Lewis Funeral Home, with rosary said at 7 pm.
