Following her husband's death in 1991, she moved to Milton, FL where she became an active member and volunteer at the Christian Life Church on Avalon Blvd in Milton. She was a regular volunteer at the Manna Food Bank in both Milton and Pace.

In June 2000 she survived a major stroke but managed to remain home with the assistance of dedicated caregivers. A very special thanks to her caregiver family Kathy and Sarah Ferry, Brenda Layton, Audrey Cornelius, Brandy Fraley and to Emerald Coast Hospice Care.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Alfred E. Wieners, granddaughter Meghan Wieners, her parents Frank and Clarice Lewandowski, her sister Phyllis Schmidt and her beloved cat of nearly 19 years, Sterling.
