William J. Elbert, 79, Redington Shores, Fla., formerly of Williams Bay, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Suncoast Hospital, Largo, Fla.
He was born Dec. 31, 1922, in New Munster, the son of William L. and Sue Hatch Elbert.
He married Louise Funke May 31, 1952. She preceded him in death. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired vice president of Harris Bank, Chicago.
He is survived by one son, Bill, Redington Shores; one daughter, Gayle Durkin, Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren; one brother, Philip, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one sister, Donna Elbert, Williams Bay.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26, at the United Church of Christ, Congregational, Williams Bay, with the Rev. Jim Burd officiating. Burial was in East Delavan Cemetery. Toynton's Walworth Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
