Frances 'Babe' Kerkman
LAKE GENEVA

 

Frances 'Babe' Kerkman, 84, of 415 Cass Street, Lake Geneva, died at Vencor Hospital in Greenfield on Friday, March 2, 2001.

She was born in Lake Geneva on May 25, 1916, the daughter of Frank and Emma (nee: Dahn) Martin. Frances was united in marriage to Edwin Kerkman on July 16, 1941 in New Munster. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1983.

She attended the Lake Geneva schools and was a graduate of the Lake Geneva High School. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva.

She is survived by a sister, Gertrude Schulz of Lake Geneva; three nieces, Janet Todd of Conifer, Colo., Janice Webberson of North Las Vegas, Nev., and Donna Busch of Elkhorn; and three nephews, Stanley Heiligenthal of Burlington, Richard Heiligenthal of Lyons, and Roger Heiligenthal of Anchorage, Alaska. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Drews and Mildred Heiligenthal; and a niece, Betty Krueger.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Julio Miralbes officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in lake Geneva. Friends may call at the Steinke Funeral Home in Lake Geneva on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m.
