Mass of Christian Burial for Mathilda Elizabeth Baumler was said by Rev Thomas Schwinn at Holy Name Catholic Church, West Union, at 11 a m Tuesday, Feb. 14, followed by burial in St Luke's Cemetery, St. Lucas. Pallbearers were Donald Baumler, Conrad Baumler, Rick Throndson, James Baumler, David Baumler and Steve Baumler. Burnham-Wood Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Mathilda Elizabeth Scholbrock Baumler, daughter of Clem and Anna Lechtenberg Scholbrock was born Oct. 28, 1898, at Festina.
On May 10, 1921, she was united in marriage to Cari Baumler. They were the parents of 10 children and lived in the St. Lucas area all of their married life.
She was a member of the Rosary Society and a past member of Legion Auxiliary.
Her death occurred at the Good Samaritan Center at the age of 90 years, three months and 12 days, Friday, Feb. 10. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1965, parents, two sons, Donald in infancy and Neil in 1975.
She is survived by three daughters, Luann, Mrs. Harlan Throndson, Lawler, Colleen, Mrs. Gerald Guenther and Norma, Mrs. Edward Wurzer, West Union, five sons, Reynold and Melvin, West Union, Cyril, Calmar, Gerald, Waucoma and Irenus, Waukon. 46 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Clem Scholbrock, Cresco, and Albert Scholbrock Waucoma two sisters, Louise, Mrs. Albert Reicks, Cresco, and Mrs. Anna Elpert, Rochester, Minn.
