Edward Bedward

 

Edward L. Bedward, 82, Woodman, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at Boscobel Area Health Care.

He was born Dec. 14, 1923 in Millville Township, Grant County, the son of George and Cora (Dailey) Bedward. He married Martha Scholbrock Sept. 25, 1946 in Calmar, Ia. He farmed for 17 years in Steuben and later worked for Milk Specialties in Boscobel for over 25 years. After retiring he spent retired years devoted and caring for his wife Martha for 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, Woodman; eight sons, Dale (Madeline) Bedward, Michigan, Gene (Donna) Bedward, Prairie du Chien, Carl Bedward and Cheryl Elliott, both of Blue River, Allen Bedward and Luanne Brown, both of DeSoto, Larry (Nancy) Bedward, Woodman, David (Lori) Bedward, Bridgeport, John Bedward and Romma Bash, Woodman, Ben (Debbie) Bedward, Wauzeka; a daughter, Sharon (Darryl) Martin, Wauzeka, 27 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Ray Bedward; two grandsons, Jason Bedward and Brian Bedward;

A memorial gathering was held Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Village Hall in Woodman. Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Hermitage Cemetery, rural Mt. Hope. with Gary Young officiating. Military honors will be accorded. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the Woodman First Responders or the Woodman Village Park.

Double Wedding Is Held at St. Mary's
Festina

At St. Mary's Catholic church, Miss Clara Mae Scholbrock and LaVerne Baures, and Miss Martha Scholbrock and Edward Bedward were married Sept. 25 by the Rev. Henry P. Nosbisch.

Miss Violet Baures and Miss Rita Lou Junk were the maids of honor; Miss Phyllis Schoeven and Miss Irene Scholbrock were bridesmaids. John Scholbrock and LaVerne Kipp were the bestmen, and Robert Scholbrock and Marcelius Tillman were ushers.

The brides are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William Scholbrock. The bridegrooms are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baures and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bedward of Mt. Hope, Wis., where the couple will make their homes atter a wedding trip to Devils Lake, Wis.
