Funeral Services For John Kipp Held In Festina
FESTINA (Special)

 

Funeral services for John Kipp, 69, of Festina, were held Tuesday, Dec. 31. at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Festina.

Mr. Kipp, a Festina carpenter and electrician, died Dec. 28 at his home in Festina following a short illness.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Peter Graff. French Funeral Home of Calmar was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers Listed

Pallbearers for the funeral were Leon and Danny Kipp of Festina. Johnny Kipp of Denver, Iowa, John Scholbrock of Festina, John Tillman of Dubuque, and Gerald Brincks of Ossian.

John was born Nov. 5, 1899, in Festina, the son of Joseph and Clara Kipp. He attended school at St. Mary's School at Festina.

He was married Feb 17, 1925, to Linda Scholbrock in St. Mary's Church at Festina.

Survivors Told

Mr. Kipp is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald, of Festina and Lavern of Denver, Ia.; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Elaine) Frana of Festina; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Ray of Lawler and Edwin of Festina; and four sisters. Katherine Tillman of Waucoma, Mrs. William Scholbrock of Calmar, Mrs. Irvin Leibold of Lawler, and Mrs. Anton Brincks of Ossian.

He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, and a brother, Herbert, of Lawler, who died in November.

Mr. Kipp was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church.

The marriage of John Kipp to Miss Linda Scholbrock took place Tuesday morning at 9:00 o'clock at the St. Mary's church, Rev. A. J. Rubly performing the ceremony. Their attendants were Miss Louisa Scholbrock and Herbert Kipp. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Kipp have many friends who extend good wishes to them throughout their life's journey.
