Services Held for Jerome Haas, 71

 

Funeral mass for Jerome Haas, retired area farmer and well known wood carver, was held at St, Mary's Catholic church, Rock Valley, Monday with Father Richard Zenk officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors. Rosary was recited at Porter Funeral Home Sunday evening at 8:00 p. m.

Mr. Haas, 71, died April 19 at the Canton-Inwood hospital following a long illness.

Pallbearers included Martin Cullinan, Claire Barry, Paul Barry, Raymond Jungerson, Gerald Hevern and Arthur Klein. Honorary pallbearers were James Hevern, Sam Baker, Frank McGill, Mike Cullinan, Joe Hevern and Paul Heffernan.

Mr. Haas was born May 4, 1896 at Marcus, Iowa. He was the son of Charles and Margaret Haas.

Survivors include one brother John, Iowa Falls; one sister, Mrs. Ada Smith, Alvord, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
