Veronica R. Reilly, age 89, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at SunQuest Healthcare Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial at St. Martins Cemetery. Visitation with her family present will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, May 15th at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a scripture prayer service and Rosary service beginning at 6:30 pm; or visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Veronica Rose Fasbender was born on October 21, 1929 to parents Benjamin and Florence (Davis) Fasbender in Hendricks, Minnesota. Veronica attended country school near White, South Dakota and graduated from Brookings High School. She then attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, obtaining her Teacher’s Certificate. Veronica married Matthew Reilly on June 3, 1950 in White, South Dakota. Veronica worked at The Plains, The Barn, Crossroads Hotel and Super 8. She enjoyed sewing, making blankets, gardening, traveling. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

She is survived by her children John (Pam) of Appleton, WI, Joe (Carrie) of Huron, Mary (Roy) Mehling of Wessington, Paul (Vada) of Colorado Springs, CO, Vern of Hartford, SD, Teresa of Yankton, SD, Mark (Patti) of Lawrenceville, GA, Dennis of San Diego, CA, Earl (Cindy) of Dalton, NE, Vincent (Patricia) of Sioux Falls, SD, David (Colette) of Parker, CO, and Daniel (Jacque) of Northglenn, CO; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Betty Reilly of Huron.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Leo, granddaughter Amanda Reilly, three sisters, Sister Bennett, Sister Ann and Sister Veronica, one brother and sister-in-law, James (MaryAnn) Fasbender, and one son-in-law, Dennis Cronin.
