Harry D. Miller

 

Harry D. Miller, 68, of 555 W. Donald St., died at home Sunday, Jan. 8, of cancer.

He was born July 18, 1926, near Fairbank, son of Harry E. and Gertrude Langley Miller. He married Norma J. Chase on April 27, 1947, in Oelwein.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He had been an auto body technician, retiring from Hohn's Auto Trim in 1990.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Julie Reuter of Waterloo; three sons, Randy, Garry and Timothy, all of Waterloo; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Miller of Sebrig, Fla.

Preceded in death by: a half brother, Kyle Phillips.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Garden View Chapel, and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
