Susan Jamerson Thayer, 56, of Phoenix, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Gardiner Hospice Home, Phoenix.
She was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Waterloo, son of Robert and Glennes Burger Jamerson.
She graduated from Columbus High School in 1972. She moved to Phoenix in 1976 and was active in Valley of the Sun Kiwanis, American Cancer Society, Valley Leadership and various fundraising associations. She was past president of Arizona Jewelers Guild. She was a jewelry salesperson in Cedar Falls and worked in jewelry sales and management in Phoenix until retirement.
Survived by: her husband, Jack; a stepson, Christopher; a stepdaughter, Nicole (Brent) Coulter of Toronto; two stepgranddaughters, Avery and Paris; her parents; two sisters, Kris (Jim) Wahl and Lori (Roger) Keegan; two brothers, Craig (Peggy) Jamerson and Paul Jamerson, both of Phoenix; 10 nieces and nephews; and three great-nephews.
Preceded in death by: two brothers, Tim and Robert Jamerson; paternal grandparents, Harold and Bernice Jamerson; maternal grandparents, Burton and Norma Burger; and her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Vera Thayer.
Celebration of Life: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuaries, Phoenix. Memorial services 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Phoenix, with a private inurnment at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
