Alice Mary Aderman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Aderman, was born December 11, 1886, in Lester township, Blackhawk county, Iowa. Together with her parents she moved to Buchanan county when she was one year old. Here she passed her childhood and resided until her death, June 18, 1917.
She was educated in the public schools and graduated from the Independence high school in the class of 1907. For seven years she was a successful teacher.
She was baptized at an early age and on August 26, 1905, became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Fairbank, Iowa, and remained a faithful member of the church until her death.
On December 9, 1914, she was united in marriage with William Wesley Seaman, who together with her mother and father and three sisters, Bessie, Emma, and Mrs. Frank Durham, who is her twin, a number of relatives and a host of friends who are left to mourn her death. Only a few hours before her death an infant daughter preceded her to the world beyond. Her life was an example of loving thoughtfulness and care for those about her and even at the last while suffering intense pain she did not forget to comfort her dear ones by words of assurance of the sweetness of the sleep into which she was entering.
Her beautiful and winsome life has been an inspiration to all who knew her and sincere indeed is the sorrow in the hearts of all because of her passing. Her uplifting influence lives on to make life a better and sweeter thing for us all.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church in charge of the pastor, Rev. H.V. Artman. Prayer was offered by Rev. H.H. Barton of Arlington and the funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Mr. Payden, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Littleton.
