Funeral services for C.J. Friedman were held Wednesday afternoon at the residence, 501 Second Avenue Southeast. Mr. Friedman died Sunday night, Nov. 26, at the age of 84. He was born Nov. 15, 1866, the son of John Jacob Friedman and Ernestine Bittman Friedman. His entire life had been spent in Independence. He was a retired mail carrier in Independence and had been a gardener. Mr. Friedman is survived by a son, Homer, and a sister, Miss Rose Friedman, with whom he made his home. Msgr. Charles Miller officiated at funeral services and burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Heege's Funeral Home was in charge.
