Henrietta A. Friedman, 83, a resident of Valley View Manor for the past 15 years, died there Tuesday.

Graveside services are Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Gannon will officiate.

There is no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home.

Mrs. Friedman was born March 29, 1905 in Muscatine, a daughter of William V. and Henrietta Kauffman Daut. Her marriage to Homer Friedman took place March 29, 1934 in Independence, Iowa.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and University Women.

She graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA and MA.

She taught school in Independence.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Robinson of Muscatine; and Sandy Issacs of Rock Island; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her husband in 1971, two sisters and a brother.
