Mary E. Clemens, 91, a resident of Eyota, died Monday (July 11, 1994) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Mary E. Daly was born May 5, 1903, in Haverhill Township. She graduated from Eyota High School in 1920. on Nov. 11, 1924, she married Joseph M. Clemens at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota. The couple farmed southeast of Eyota until moving to Eyota in 1955. Mr. Clemens died March 1973. Mrs. Clemens was a lifetime member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and its altar society, as well as a member of the Lady Bugs Homemaker group. She had been a resident of Whitewater Health Care Center since January.
She is survived by two sons, James and Donald: both of Eyota; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nora Shabinaw of Trenton, Mich.; and a brother, William Daly of Rochester. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two grandsons, two great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Vernon Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota. The rosary will be said at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
