Mr. Roman B. Vos, 74, of 461 Windsor Dr., Antioch, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9. at Victory Memory Hospital. He was born May 14, 1898 in Burlington, Wis. and moved to West Allis, Wis. then to Crown Point, Ind., and to Antioch 36 years ago. He is a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Antioch, Father Henderson Counsul No. 3800 K of C. lodge and served as treasurer for many years: Bishop Quarter General Assembly 4th Degree K of C. in Waukegan; Past president of and member of the Antioch Lions Club; Past Commander and member of Antioch American Legion Post NO. 748; served as manager of the Antioch Lumber and Coal Co. for 30 years and previously had operated lumber yards in West Allis, Wis. and Crown Point, Ind. He married Zaida Johnson on Sept. 17, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wis.

Survivors are his wife, Zaida; 4 sons, William R. (Antioch), Ronald S. (Antioch), Philip G. (Lake. Villa) and Roman B. Vos Jr. (Antioch); 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary (Marshall) Plechaty (Land O Lakes) and Mrs. Sally (Richard) Schlarbaum (Antioch); 1 brother, Edmond F. Vos (Antioch); 3 sisters, Mrs. Marie Szydlowski (Burlington), Mrs. Elizabeth Oldenberg (Burlington), and Mrs. Lucille Feiereisen (Manitowish Waters) and 23 grandchildren.

A funeral mass was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Antioch. Interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Antioch Rescue Squad.

Others list POD as Antioch, but the obit says Victory Memory Hospital. I think this is a typo and it's actually Victory MEMORIAL Hospital, which is in Waukegan, IL.
