Fred Henry Schemmer, 68, resident of Watsonville for the last 21 years, died Sunday at the Watsonville hospital. Funeral services will be held from White's funeral chapel at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. F. C. Farr will conduct the chapel services. Burial will be in the family plot in the Pajaro Valley Park.

Mr. Schemmer is survived by his widow, Elizabeth Schemmer of Watsonville, five sisters and one brother, all residing in the east.

He a lot car inspector for the Southern Pacific company until his retirement October 31, 1937. He was one of the honored guests at a banquet given last fall by the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, of which he was member. He belonged to Pajaro Lodge No. 90, I.O.O.F. and was devout member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this city.
