Kathryn C. Schmidt, 79, Burlington, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Burlington.
The former Kathryn C. Tenhagen was born March 1, 1922, in Burlington, the daughter of John and Clara Richter Tenhagen.
On Sept. 27, 1944, at St. Mary 's Catholic Church, Burlington, she married Donald Schmidt. They lived in Bohners Lake before moving to Wheatland Township 50 years ago.
She was valedictorian of her class at St. Mary's High School, Burlington. She worked for 26 years as an inspector for LaVelle Industries, Burlington, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Twin Lakes.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Linda Kinkins, Walworth, June Rasch, Twin Lakes, and Dianne Funk, Union Grove; two sons, Donald L., Scott Depot, W.Va., and Daniel Schmidt, Adams; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosemary Roanhaus and Lucille Lois, both of Burlington. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Tenhagen.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 11, at St. John's Catholic Church, Twin Lakes. Interment was at St. John's Cemetery. The family received friends Monday at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, Twin Lakes. The family suggested memorials to the Twin Lakes Rescue Squad.
