Francis Richter, 80, passed away on Sunday, December 10th, 2017 at Aurora House in Weslaco. He was born on August 28th, 1937 to William and Marie Richter in Le Mars, Iowa. He had one sister, Mary Ann. He was raised and graduated from high school in Rock Valley, Iowa. Francis went to college and became a chiropractor. He opened his practice in Howard, South Dakota, but had to close it twice when he was called to serve his country. Francis was called to service three times. After he completed his duty, he went into politics after that he began his career at the US Post Office, where he was a communication manager in Boston and worked at the United States Postal Service headquarters in Washington D.C. In Boston, he won the communication manager award in the northeast region of the United States Postal Service.

After retirement, Francis and his wife Myrnaflor, moved to Weslaco, where he would spend the rest of his life. They were faithful members of St Pius Catholic Church of Weslaco.

Francis is survived by his wife, Myrnaflor, of 27 years, his children, David (Kellie) Richter and Margaret Krebs, his sister, Mary Ann Kerkvliet.
