Catherine Ideker, Hartford, SD, died May 29, 2003, at Sioux Valley Hospital.

Catherine Ogden was born August 7, 1917, at Lennox, South Dakota, to Clarence and Josephine (Richter) Ogden. She graduated from high school in 1935, at Lennox.

Catherine was united in marriage to Lawrence Ideker on August 31, 1936. The couple lived in various communities. The Ideker family farmed in the Humboldt area for many years. Catherine was a homemaker, beloved mother and wife. After the children were raised, she became employed with McKennan Hospital. She was head cook and worked in the dietary department for 16 years.

Lawrence and Catherine enjoyed fishing and camping for many years. She also enjoyed reading and canning vegetables from the family gardens. Lawrence preceded her in death on July 29, 2002. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Humboldt, SD.

Grateful for having shared her life are her sons, Donald Ideker and his wife, Patty, Humboldt, SD, Sidney Ideker and his wife, Sharon, Sioux Falls, SD, Rodney Ideker and his wife, Joan, Florissant, MO; daughter, LuAnn Hanson and her husband, Norman, Wilmot, SD; sister, Sr. Veronica Ogden, Aberdeen, SD, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grand-children. In addition to Lawrence, a grandchild, 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., at St. Ann Catholic Church, Humboldt, SD. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at St. Ann's. The family will be present following the service to greet friends and relatives. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 Sunday afternoon at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main Avenue.
