Paul L. Beers, 74, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1993, in his home.

Mr. Beers was born on April 26, 1919, in Argonne. He grew up in the Argonne area on the family farm and attended Argonne school. He served in World War II.

He married Shirley Mae Unterbrunner on June 5, 1951. They lived on the family farm until they retired and moved to Howard.

He was a member of the American Legion and St. Agatha Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Howard; four sons: Dennis, Kim and Terry, all of Howard; and Mark and his wife, Lori, of Sioux Falls; six daughters: Mrs. Don (Deborah) Plahn of Jasper, Minn.; Mrs. Bob (Patsy Ann) Stevenson of Jamestown, N.D.; Mrs. Mark (Sharon Rae) Wulf and Adele Beers, both of Sioux Falls; Marcia Costine of Highland Ranch, Colo.; and Mrs. Lynn (Mary Kay) Neuhardt of Lakeside, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.

Scripture service will begin at 7:30 tonight in the church.
