Funeral services for Walter J. Beers, 45, were Jan. 13 at St. Agatha Catholic Church.

Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction of the Willoughby Funeral Home.

Mr. Beers was born at Howard and died Jan. 9 at a Rochester, Minn., hospital after a short illness. He farmed in the Howard area until purchasing the Ben Franklin Store at Webster in 1966.

Survivors include his widow the former Kathleen Lauer; seven children, Carol and Mary Lou, students at South Dakota State University, and Joyce, Larry, Tom, Dick and Jerry, at home; three brothers, Vince, Des Moines, Iowa: and Angelo and Paul, Howard, and a sister, Mrs. Luverne Lusk, Howard.
